DPD02 – Intermediate Black and White Darkroom

Description
This intensive course affords students the opportunity to develop more advanced techniques utilised in the making of Exhibition Printing. You will learn split-grade printing, which will bring in details into your highlight and shadow areas resulting in a fine art black and white print. You will also learn to dodge and burn your print. This course is only for those who have a basic knowledge of printing.
The Darkroom will provide all chemicals needed for the duration of the Course and paper for the first 2 weeks. The cost of the course includes one free 3hr session in the darkroom, which can be taken after the courses is finished.
Requirements
Students must have completed Course DPD01 or have a basic knowledge of developing film and black and white printing.

About the Tutor
Mella Travers has worked in photography for over 25 years, including the fashion industry and commercial areas. She has exhibited in Ireland and internationally and taught on a variety of different third level and adult education courses. Mella holds an honours BA in Photography from the University of Westminster, London.
