Her Limerick photographs have been published in the arts anthology  Winter Papers  and a  publication by Askeaton Contemporary Arts  with accompanying essays in response to her images by Kevin Barry. Betty has been awarded a Darkroom membership, where she is developing her photographic practice under their mentorship.

She is co-owner with her husband of  Pixelated , a design studio based in Cabra. She also works part-time for Mazars as a graphic designer and in all areas of digital media.

I work with the mediums of photography and drawing in both analogue and digital formats. I’m also exploring printmaking techniques such as silkscreen and risographs and pursuing the art of collage. Photography is generally the foundation of my work which I often combine or transform into other mediums. My work often deals with the past and the capacity of how nostalgia affects us. I have a large bank of reference material such as found photographs, slides, super 8 films, old Hollywood movie magazines and books and analogue equipment. Using them for inspiration, I aspire to tell stories, whether real or fictional. I am also passionate about gathering and documenting my surroundings as they alter. I am particularly interested in Dublin City and its neglected buildings and disappearing neighbourhoods. Through my images, I endeavour to highlight particular changing circumstances and capture the city’s personality as it tries to survive its adjustment.
