Intermediate Course

This course is only for those who have a basic knowledge of printing.

What you will learn

This intensive course affords students the opportunity to develop more advanced techniques utilised in the making of Exhibition Printing.

You will learn split-grade printing, by using multigrade filters you will be combining low contrast and high contrast exposures in the same print, resulting in bring details into the highlight and shadow areas.

Learning to use techniques such as burning and dodging by using your hands as well as making and using tailored tools. Burning brings in more light, creating details into your highlights, where dodging lifts the shadow areas, enabling more detail to be seen.

Using these techniques will result in making a fine art black and white print.
