Date:Sunday 1st December
Suitable for all Levels
This one day workshop, Photogram and Luminogram workshop with Mella Travers (The Darkroom) & Ieva Balode (LV) who is a founding member of Baltic Analog Lab, is only in Ireland for 2 weeks doing a few workshops here at The Darkroom and this is her second one.
The first part of the day, Mella will introduce to our black and white darkroom where you get to learn about wet printing, through creating and making photograms.
Then after a break Ieva will introduce you to the principle’s of light and shadow, as the key to making an image. By following the basic understanding of these techniques, you will create images using only light – from various sources to create light drawings on photographic black & white paper.
After making a set of Luminograms you will combined both luminograms and photogram principles together to make beautiful images.
All of which are unique as impossible to create the same original image twice, unless you made a copy of an original image.
Ieva Balode (LV) is an artist and film curator working with the analogue image. She has exhibited and screened her work at international exhibitions and festivals presenting her work both in installation, as well as cinema and performance situation.
