DPD02 - Intermediate Black and White Darkroom

This intermediate course is available after the successful completion of DPD01 or for those possessing a basic knowledge of darkroom developing and printing processes. This intensive course provides students with an opportunity to develop advanced techniques utilised in the making of fine art prints. You will learn and apply a combination of different printing techniques including split-grade printing using multi-grade filters, fogging techniques, and dodging and burning both by hand and with home-made tools. In addition, you will learn a system of layering in order to create different tonalities across your images.


Our workshops are designed with a limited number of spaces in order to ensure that each participant receives valuable one-to-one attention from the tutor and enjoys their time at the Dark Room.

Duration: Four weeks  6.30pm to 9.30pm.
